busy week coming up! working on briefs for MSOED, two publications, designs for publications, meetings, website/blog design and plenty more. not to mention the new university brief — this might be the first time ever I can’t commit to a brief on my degree, and it just so happens to be a group of people I’d really like to work with :( regardless, design is design, feel free to send more briefs through for MSOED for me to work on at some point!
How did Lars Moereels begin his quest into graphics, music and design?
I started photographing with my dad’s polaroid when I was 13. I feel like I’ve made the most progress within the last year. My passion for graphic design started after seeing the work of my homies Stig & Max
Do you have any influences that stand out to you from being a kid or teenager?
This might sound cliche but: I’m influenced by love & my own imagination. And maybe a little bit by plastic toys and liquids .
Ever since I saw the Tokyo 1964 olympics poster a few years ago, I’ve always had a soft spot for minimal yet bold design. I love the simplicity in representing the hosting country through simple shapes and colours - below are some of my favourites from the past and a few design propositions of the present day that I like almost as much.

ALAN CLARKE’S ‘Olympic Poster Proposals’ for London 2012:
Inspired by my last post, I decided I’d dedicate a post to an undoubtedly fresh approach to poster design. Many of you will have heard of this guy and thus this may not interest you, but I decided it would be worth while to feature some of his iconic poster design for two prime reasons - one reason being that it’s contemporary and thus has a much more saturated collection of influences than archaic poster design, and the second reason being that there’s an element of iconic symbolism to each of his posters, much like many of the olympic posters of the past. Let’s have a look OK?
